The volume edited by Cesare Chiodi, engineer and town planner, member, in the thirties, the commission for the execution of the plan of Milan and counselor of the Hospital, provides a comprehensive view of the estates of the Ospedale Maggiore.
The work is divided into short chapters in which it is shown the formation of real estate assets of the Hospital, its texture and income and expenses from the same products, as well as improvements to the property through projects for land reclamation and agricultural and rehabilitation of rural homes.
In the final part of the work also contains the plans of some farmhouses with their plans for reform and a section devoted to historical and statistical data relating to the estates.
