The
volume summarizes the results of reconnaissance surveys and archive of Giacomo Bascapè (Ospedale
Maggiore archivist from 1932 to 1967), about the origin, provenance and the consistency of the
complex of religious buildings owned by the hospital. This is an historic and artistic inventory
of churches, chapels and oratories according to geographical location. In the description of the
buildings are also highlights the works of art belonging to them. The description also includes
abbeys and Ganna and Sesto Calende, although no longer members of the hospital
assets.
