Henrico Ronzani was Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Director of the Institute of Hygiene of University of Milan, and Niguarda Hospital designer. The book illustrates the complex of the Ospedale Maggiore in Milan starting from a description of the technical health buildings such as study support hospital hygiene through the ages. The work is divided into five chapters, each of which aims to describe the structure and history of the building Sforza, the halls of the clinic and hospitals: Dermosifilopatico di via Pace, dei Cronici di Cernusco sul Naviglio and Sanatorium “Vittorio Emanuele III” in Garbagnate Milanese.
Finally there is a short statement regarding the pawnshop of Milan.
